Cats and dogs can be imported to the UAE with an import permit and the right health documents. Start months ahead.
Requirements
- Import permit from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment
- Microchip
- Rabies vaccination and other required vaccinations
- Rabies antibody blood test for pets from certain countries, with a waiting period
- Veterinary health certificate issued shortly before travel
Restricted breeds
Certain dog breeds and crossbreeds cannot be imported. Check the current list before planning.

Pets usually travel as manifest cargo, handled by a pet relocation company.
