Investor and partner visas

As the owner of a UAE company you can sponsor your own residence visa through it. This is the most common route to residence for our clients.

How it works

The company holds an establishment card with immigration, and its licence or package includes a visa quota. As a shareholder, you apply for residence as an investor or partner, with the company as sponsor.

Eligibility

  • You are a shareholder of the UAE company
  • The company has an active licence and establishment card
  • The company has an available visa quota
  • You pass the medical fitness test

Process

  1. Entry permit issued, or change of status if you are already in the UAE.
  2. Medical fitness test at an approved centre.
  3. Biometrics for Emirates ID.
  4. Residence visa issued, now linked to the Emirates ID.

Validity

Usually two years for most jurisdictions, renewable while the company remains active. Some jurisdictions issue longer terms.

Family

Once your visa is issued you can sponsor your spouse and children. See Family visa.

Common questions

How many days must I spend in the UAE to keep the visa?

Standard residence visas can lapse after a continuous absence of more than six months. The Golden Visa does not have this limit.

Can I have a visa if my company has no employees?

Yes. Many owners are the only person on the company's visa quota.
