Entry permit
The entry permit is the first stage of a residence visa. It allows you to enter the UAE to complete the medical test, biometrics and residence stamping.
How it works
Your sponsor, whether your company, employer or family member, applies for the entry permit. Once issued you enter the UAE within its validity period and start the residence process.
If you are already in the UAE
The permit can be activated through a Change of status without leaving.
Common questions
How long is the entry permit valid?
It must be used within the period stated on the permit, commonly around sixty days, after which a new one is needed.
